This congregation owned a 4-acre site with a one-room church on the front of it. They asked Helbing Lipp Recny Architects to create a new home for the congregation on the site which had limited access and restrictive covenants that affected development.
The building was placed immediately behind the existing building so it could stay in place until after construction when it was torn down. It has 10,625 square feet and includes a worship space for 350 with a sweeping curved side wall, a small chapel directly under a soaring illuminated cross tower, a large narthex, classroom space and offices. The worship center features a wall of glass that opens to a contemplative garden. The rear of the site was left open to accommodate a future school facility.
