This summer is going to be a busy one for us!
We have recently wrapped up renovation projects with Arlington Church of Christ and Pleasant Valley United Methodist. And the Church of Pentecost‘s new sanctuary building is being dedicated in July.
Construction is nearly complete on Immanuel Anglican Church in Prince William County. The exterior of the building has been completed, all windows and doors have been installed, the roof is complete, and last month the steeple was installed (left), really bringing the building together. Immanuel Anglican’s new Mission Outpost is slated to be complete very soon!
The new sanctuary addition, being built to accommodate Columbia Baptist Church‘s growth is beginning to take shape. Last month the steel skeleton of the Sanctuary was erected (right). We are looking forward to topping off of the steel, the framing of the exterior walls, and “drying-in” of the building.
We are currently in the Schematic design phase for Grace Bible Church in Lorton, Virginia. This new addition will be around 8,500 square feet and will include a new 400 seat worship center, classrooms, new offices, and support spaces for the educational cooperative for home schooling parents that is run out of the church.
We have also started design of some new projects!
In May, we began working with Woodbridge Seventh-Day Adventist Church, designing a new church facility on their property on Dumfries Road in Prince William County. Their new building will include a Sanctuary with seating for 500, offices, classrooms, and support spaces. We have teamed up with our friends at Whitener & Jackson, who will be the General Contractor, and we plan to begin construction in mid-2023. We also began working with Oakton Montessori School. Oakton Montessori is just down the road from our offices in Oakton and we are helping to add three new restrooms for their young students. This month, we also began working with Chamberlain Construction on Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington, VA, to renovate around 650 square feet of classroom space and turn them into an office suite.
Last but certainly not least, we have added a new member to the HLR staff. Danielle Juarez (second photo on the left) is currently taking architecture classes at Northern Virginia Community College and plans to apply to Virginia Tech’s School of Architecture and Design for her Master’s next fall. She received her undergraduate degree is in Fine Art Painting & Drawing from Brigham Young University. At HLR, Dani is putting her extensive background in design, aesthetics, and project planning and execution to good use. She is responsible for drafting and revising plans, editing construction documents, and assisting senior staff with general office needs. Originally from Idaho, she has lived in the northern Virginia area for over 5 years.
We are looking forward to this summer and are positioned to take on more projects in the near future. If your church, school, or business is looking for a great firm to help make your building dreams into a reality, we would love to hear from you.
